Announcement:  Final Program announced.

Abstracts for posters and, by special request, a few talk abstracts can be accepted until 15 August 2017.  See Abstracts link above.

Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn of Napoli and the University Federico II of Napoli, Italy,  with the University of Florence and the Unione Zoologica Italiana (UZI) will jointly host the 14th International Congress on Invertebrate Reproduction and Development from August 28, 2017 to September 2nd, 2017.The central theme of the Congress will be Rhythms of Life and their Alterations (including both early development and aging); however, the conference expects to encompass all aspects, numerous phyla, and a range of technical approaches to understanding and applying knowledge of invertebrate reproduction and development. The conference will include a presentation on neural development in Caenorhabditis elegans by Nobel laureate Martin Chalfie and on mechanisms controlling the cell cycle by Nobel laureate Tim Hunt, and many opportunities for students and post-docs to interact with these laureates and to participate in presentations, discussions, and awards,

The Congress will also be an exciting venue for informal interactions and experiencing the culture and beauty of Italian cities and countryside. The Congress includes receptions at various art and historical sites in Napoli and Firenze. Beginning for two days near the historically significant and leading marine science location of the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn in Napoli, Italy, the conference will then move via mid-conference fast train to Firenze, Italy, where the beauty of the city and its wonderful venues will facilitate a Presidential Symposium, banquet, and continuation of scientific sessions.  ICIRD0-2017 is the triennial meeting of the International Society for Invertebrate Reproduction and Development..

The large international presence will provide many resources for scientific cooperation and opportunities for publication of full-length papers of presentations will be provided.

Locations of the conference sessions will be 28 (reception), 29, & 30 August at the Congress Center University Federico II of Napoli, Via Partenope 36, Napoli, ; 31 August-on the train and excursions in Firenze; 1 September , at the Aula Magna del Rettorato, Piazza San Marco, Firenze; and 2 September at the Salone dei 500, Palazzo Vecchio, Firenze.

Tours and student/post-doc meetings at the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn will occur in the afternoon of 30 August.  A visit to "La Specola" Natural History Museum will occur on 1 September, prior to transport to the Congress banquet at Ristorante La Sosta del Gusto, Via Santa Bridida, 11, Castello del Trebbio, Pontassieve (FI).  An extensive set of activities are available for accompanying guests, from the Program link, above.
